Raz hands shook at the sight of old Quil. Quil, Quil, Quil, her only remaining friend. Azra take his soul. May he burn bright in the everafter. The old prayer flashed across her mind before everything spiraled into fury.Once again she had lost everything, and the fact that she did nothing to stop it yet again cut to the quick. Fire built up in her gut, whispered sweet nothings in her ears and Raz could feel reality slipping away. The world was becoming a blur of reds, golds, and sunlight. She wanted it all to burn.

Talon made a sudden movement and the sight of his blood drove her from her daze. Flames flooded her senses and pulsed, ready and waiting. At Talon's subtle glance she let loose, a roar errupting from her throat while fire errupted from her skin. The tent went up in a blaze- the carpets, the roads, the bodies around her. Only Talon remained untouched, and she almost numbly heaved his weight against her and began to drag him away. Her thoughts were no longer coherent, but a mixture of heat and of the voice of the fire.

Anyone who stepped in her way was set alight. A path of screams met her ears, but nothing really registered.

She wanted it all to burn.

afro They need some shades, man. afro

Running with Raz, barely keeping consciousness, Talon felt exhaustion almost overwhelm him. He saw, he heard. They were all burning, dying. The smell of searing flesh burned his nose, made him sick. He heaved. Never had he failed so badly. Never had he even been scratched before by an opponent. He was too well-trained, invincible. Or so he had thought. He had been too ignorant. Quill had made him soft.

As they finally reached a safe place, away from the chaos of the burning Silk City, Talon felt himself collapse. Where was Raz? Was she okay? He hoped so... he wanted to kill her himself. If they hadn't followed her... but then she had helped him, had cleared the path. As much as he hated to admit it, he wouldn't have made out if it weren't for her. He could feel the blood pulsing out of his chest. He was just like Quill... was this karma, his judgement? Was he being punished for abandoning the old man, for letting him die? Talon could hear, could feel his own heart beating and it slowed... and slowed...

    And then it was dark.
